Happy Independence Day! (Argentina´s is the 9th)

I´m now getting nice and comfortable here in Posadas. ..It only took a week to stop saying things like, ¨Have you lived here in Goya all of your life?¨ or ¨Is that in Goya?¨ P.O.S.A.D.A.S. is now on the brain.  (*For those of you interested, ¨posadas¨ means ¨inns¨) The 4th was very enjoyable, for us.  Thanks, Mom, for the American flag that I have. It worked great. And by shear luck, the ¨Star Spangled Banner¨ came across my MP3 on shuffle for the first time on Wednesday (until that point, I had no idea that it exsisted on the MP3 that Nathan sent me..Destiny!) Thus, providing a very patriotic 4th. (Don´t worry, we wore the Red, White, and Blue colored ties.)

I think I might have set an ¨Argentina Resistencia Mission¨ Record, this week (only a small step down from Guiness, I assure you). Do you remember how I was collecting Alfajor wrappers? Well...an elder that went home last year had collected 103 different wrappers (basically like 103 different types of Little Debbie snacks...to put it in American terms.) As far as I´ve heard, nobody has topped that. ...Until now. This week, I officiallyfound my 104th wrapper (my current count is 106). Feel free to tell all of your friends that there´s a new champ in town.

Weird moment of the week: Sunday night, we taught a nice family that had lots of questions (not all of them being doctrinal questions: ¨I heard it´s really hard to get in the US.¨) Anyways, we found them by accident. After teaching about the Restoration, we decided to invite them to be baptized. The mother
then told us that she had already been baptized in the Church. um... Why did you wait until we had been there 30 minutes before saying that? Turns out, she is. She even showed us a few pictures she had with some missionaries at her ¨15th¨. Now, she´s got 4 kids and the oldest is like 12. Argentina never stops surprising you..

This week I started the Isaiah chapters of 2 Nephi... I think I´ll stop right there. Don´t want to ruin the ¨fun.¨ :)

Stay classy,

Elder McMurray
