Weather Update:It´s perfect Wales/Ireland weather. A little cold, and misty. Also, this week we had a frost. The first frost I´ve seen since the States.
What, was this, ¨Write Elder McMurray¨ week, or something? Thanks for all of the emails and updates on your lives! I´m glad you all are doing well and that my make-shift lacrosse goals have been put to good use. I had really hoped that I would be remembered, but the results are still quite astounding to me: people wearing my clothes in three different states, my room being dominated by Matt and little rodents, my trumpet being used as a herding device for cattle, and now my goals are being enjoyed by the entire neighborhood. I think I would have a higher price on my head if I were dead, by the looks of it... I guess call it Charity, the pure love of Christ, because I´m actually okay with it all. :)
Thanks for the update on the Brazil-Argentina match. Even though I didn´t watch the game, I pretty much had play by play updates as we went from house to house. I hope all of you Brazilian advocates took note: Don´t Mess with Messi. That´s my home-boy, for ya.
This week´s Good Samaritan activity was a bit of an interesting one. We, the missionaries, tend to walk down the middle of the road..we usually don´t have that many confrontations with cars on the majority of roads. Thursday, as we were being passed by a pickup truck, we moved over; considerate of us, I know. But for some reason, the driver went really wide and drove himself into the ditch (the Sanja, if you catch my drift...). Though he had 4-wheel drive, he was in pretty good. What was an empty street 10 seconds prior, was now full of 8 men, ready to help/stare/laugh. It was like a Nascar pit stop. Like five of us decided to push the truck, over the wheel on the bed of the truck. The owner then proceeded to floor it, thus spraying us with mud/trash/sewage water (aka Sanja). My companion definitely got the worst of it. I´ll attach a picture of my pants... Then another truck pulled up from out of nowhere and hook up some ropes. The truck was in and out of the Sanja in less than seven minutes. Kevin Harvick would be proud...
This week, I´ve started the Book of Mormon over. I never can seem to get enough of it. This life has a few kinds of people. If you want to analyze yourself and see what kind of person you are, read 1 Nephi 8. I´ve also got into a bit of a parable kick, of late. I´ve come to the conclusion that Christ really did have a good sense of humor (to go along nicely with every other attribute that he possessed).
So, I´ve realized that I´m usually the Spiritual one. Feel free to say something cool in your emails (not that your emails aren't AWESOME already...).
I love you all,
Elder McMurray
