We´re cooking in the Olla in Goya!

Maybe I´m crazy, but the weeks are going by faster.  I promise you that I was just emailing last week. Am I really 13 months done?? Yikes...

This week, I took an unexpected trip to Resistencia, on Tuesday. Resistencia is a good four hour busride from Goya. The reason for the trip? -- Elder De Leon (Gautemala) needed to do some paperwork for his Visa. His companion was unable to go, so I was the lucky one chosen for the ride.  Other than getting up at 2:45am to catch the bus, it was a rather nice trip.  Several missionaries that came with me, as well as an old companion (Elder Massey), are working in the Mission Office.  It was a pleasant reunion.  (I also managed to snag a copy of the Book of Mormon in Portuguese and Guarani.) I was this close (thumb and pointer finger a centimeter apart) from going to McDonald´s on the trip. Oh well, I heard it was overrated anyway. Oh... and the paperwork was unsuccessful... he had to go back on Thursday to try again.

Baptism!  María Godoy.  Saturday. 4 O´clock.  It was a beautiful, sunny day. The water was a little cold, but at least we tried to heat it up.. (Which included my companion getting his eye lashes and eyebrows burned off. Never trust a water heater from Argentina that requires a match to ¨light¨ it. Gas has a tendency to build up... haha) But other than that, it was a very sweet, simple baptism.

Why do we have happiness? Why do we have wickedness?  Why does God allow suffering? 2 Nephi 2 has the answer!

Well, transfers are this week. Any wagers?

Love,

Elder McMurray
