Lavantaos y Brillad, pues.

For starters, Feliz Día de Padre!  It sounds like it was a good one, Dad.  I hope all of your wildest dreams came true.  I sent a hand written letter to you last week.  Hopefully, it will get to you this week.

Mom, seminary teacher??  Looks like it was divine inspiration that you started memorizing scriptures.  If you´d like, I can start memorizing them in Spanish with you. :)  I know you will do great.

This week´s food of choice:  Locro.  A local favorite.  A special soup only made this time of year (it´s not real Locro if it´s made at another time...)  Eaten with a little torta asada and it´s hard to beat. ...The only downside was the mondongo (like the cow´s stomach or intestines or something).  But you´ve got to try it if you are ever in Corrientes, Argentina during the winter here.  You become a true Correntino when you´ve experienced it. (-that and you say ¨pues¨ after every sentence.)

Our landlord just keeps outdoing himself.  Pablo installed a pull-up bar in our apartment, this morning.  I´m excited to start doing pull-ups with the new ¨bagadge¨ that I´ve gained... if you catch my drift.  My arms are going to be huge when I leave this area.  Next up for The Pablo: a bench for bench pressing (it´s in the works, the weights will be a metal bar with to cement chunks on each end. I can´t wait.)

This week was a fairly standard week.  But a good one.  We had lots of success and have talked to many great people.  The exciting part of the week... We are going to have a baptism this weekend!  María is a great woman that truly has a desire to follow Christ in her life.  That´s one of the treats about being in an area for SO long.  I found María with one of my ¨mini¨ companions back in February.  When you are somewhere for so long, you really get to see major changes in the their lives.  Every time that I see it, it strengthens my testimony even more.  The Gospel is so true!  After reading Elder David A. Bednar´s 2005 talk on Tender Mercies, I know that it´s not a coincidence that I have been apart of these people´s lives.  Tender mercies can come in any form, in any fashion, to any person.  Heavenly Father wanted me to get to know these people.  We must live worthy to recognize these moments.  Do a good study on ¨Virtue¨ if you want to know how to prepare yourself for such.

Buenas Suerte con todo,

Elder McMurray
